Paul Valéry collection, 1896-1939.

Collection contains holograph and typescript drafts of poems,articles and notes, including fragments of the "Cantate du Narcisse" and "Degas, danse, dessin," and a holograph of a speech given by Valéry for the League of Nations in Budapest, 1936. Also in the collection are several autograph letters to unidentified recipients, drawings, watercolors and sketches by Valéry, several photographs of Valéry taken by Marie Elizabeth Wrede, an article by Jeanine Parisier Plottel about the collection, and an etched portrait of Valéry by Wrede.
